The WREC Project, coordinated by the Global Logistics Cluster and supported by a coalition of humanitarian organizations - the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Save the children International, and the World Food Programme of the United Nations - seeks to reduce the adverse environmental consequences of humanitarian logistics through awareness, practical guidance, and real-time environmental expertise.
The branding concept for the WREC project draws its inspiration directly from the project's objective, which is to enhance the sustainability of humanitarian supply chains. The logo itself is a result of merging the iconic imagery of logistics cargo boxes with the symbolism of green leaves. To ensure harmony and coherence, a complementary color palette comprised primarily of various shades of green was selected. This color choice further reinforces the project's commitment to environmental sustainability, while also representing growth, renewal, and vitality.
